Fatherhood in Motion
The Youth Development Programme in the Division of Youth Affairs is excited to present an in-depth parenting workshop titled “Fatherhood in Motion,” scheduled for Saturday, February 15, 2025. This captivating event is set to take place in the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium at the Garfield Sobers Complex, Wildey, St. Michael, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
“Fatherhood in Motion” is carefully crafted to assist and improve the parenting abilities of young fathers aged 18 to 35. The workshop will offer valuable insights and practical tools that enable fathers to address the diverse challenges of parenting with confidence and competence. Participants can anticipate an engaging educational experience featuring interactive sessions directed by the Men Empowerment Network Support, facilitated by Mr. Fabian Sargeant.
The workshop will explore three essential topics that will resonate deeply with attendees, such as:
The Importance of Co-Parenting During Separation: Learning to cultivate positive co-parenting dynamics while dealing with separation.
Parenting the “Me” in My Child: Examining ways to support a child’s unique identity while integrating lessons from personal experiences.
Men’s Rights (Laws Related to Men): Empowering fathers on their legal rights to be informed advocates for both themselves and their children.
This initiative not only intends to equip fathers with the necessary resources for effective parenting but also strives to create a nurturing community.
