Barbados YouthADVANCE Corps Cohort 5 Graduation
Cohort 5 of the Barbados YouthADVANCE Corps have now completed their journeys through the two-year developmental programme.
120 trainees graduated this past Saturday, November 9th, 2024, in a ceremony held at the Queens College School in Husbands, St. James.
In his feature address, Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, the Hon. Charles Griffith, urged the graduates to become agents of change.
“Find a cause in life that you can pour into now. Something that you are passionate about, something that you figure, I need to do this not only for self but for country. Change is constant, and with change comes opportunity,” he said.
Director Hally Haynes presented the report of cohort 5. He confirmed that about 70 per cent of trainees had received certifications in their chosen study areas.
“This comprehensive approach integrates academic and vocational training, work experience, and volunteer service, equipping young people with the skills, values, and mindset to thrive in an ever-changing world” Director Haynes added.
Class Valedictorian, Tamia Reece also reflected on her time over the past two years in the programme. She spoke fondly on the advances that she made in her personal development and those she is looking forward to making in the future.
Congratulations to Cohort 5!🥳🎉
