About The Block Transformation Unit
The Block Transformation Unit (BTU) is facilitated under the Division of Youth and Culture in the Prime Minister’s Office. BTU was created to support the development of persons in Barbados who face societal challenges that affect their development.
Objectives
- Identifying and servicing “blocks “ within communities across the island.
- Conducting needs assessments on individuals and groups who gather on these “blocks”
- Providing tracing for individuals who were or are involved in projects, ensuring they receive the necessary support and resources.
- Creating training and educational opportunities through initiatives like Project Dawn.

- Project Dawn is a comprehensive community-based social intervention strategy to address deficiencies and other social developmental challenges that affect young people.
