National Summer Camps 2020 are on!

Welcome to our National Summer Programme 2020! From August 24th to September 11th, 2020, the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment is offering 23 safe spaces for three weeks of supervised interactive camp programmes for Barbadian children and youth. In addition to our 19 general multi-activity camp programmes in communities across Barbados, we also have 4 specialised Arts programmes at Emmerton Community Centre, Ivy Community Centre, Hill House Community Centre and at Haynesville Police Outpost. Parents please note space is limited as we are following the COVID-19 protocols to ensure the safety of everyone.

Again, we extend a special invitation and welcome to volunteers, as our programmes are also about building the capacity and competencies of young people and all community members. We believe in teamwork, sharing skills, experiences and giving back to our society and if you share in this, then join us for a fulfilling summer experience in 2020. All COVID-19 protocols will be strictly adhered to.

The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, as previously committed, has also commenced its summer programming through the Community Development Department’s ITs for Teens Computer Technology Online Summer programme, the Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme’s two-week Summer Enterprise Experience programme, the Next Steps Training Initiative Community Arts programme and the collaborative with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and the Blue Economy in its ‘Swim for Life’ programme through our National Sports Council.

Enjoy your summer and be safe!
