The Next Steps Training Initiative Programme is one of four programming channels in the Division of Youth. Launched in June 2008, the programme seeks among other things, to empower Barbadian young men and women to realizing their fullest potential while promoting the building of social capital.

The Next Steps Training Initiative Programme seeks to contribute to the development of the Human Resources necessary to function in a knowledge based service economy and the creation of appropriate family, community and society values. It is one of Government’s response mechanisms exemplifying its firm commitment to developing the institutional framework and facilitating those aspects of social interaction that will unlock the potential of all Barbadian young people.
